Worried about a child

If you are worried about a child's wellbeing, there are different ways of getting help depending on what you need. The NSSCP works with partners to provide these different types of support.

The North Somerset online directory

You can use the North Somerset online directory by searching with a key word to find a list of local services which may be able to support your situation.

SEND Local Offer

You can also access the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Local Offer for people with SEND aged 0-25. The Local Offer provides information and support services available to children and families in the local area.

Make a referral to North Somerset Children’s Services

North Somerset Children’s Services is a collection of Council services that are responsible for supporting and protecting children and families.

Any contact made to Children’s Services will be recorded and reviewed by the Front Door. The Front Door respond to any initial contact from a professional or resident of North Somerset who is concerned about a child.

You can contact Children’s Services through Care Connect. Care Connect is North Somerset Children’s Services single point of access. Your contact will be recorded by Care Connect, reviewed by the Front Door, and you will receive a response with 48 hours.

Care Connect

Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm.

Out of hours calls will be automatically directed to an out of hours team who will redirect you to an appropriate out of hours service.
